My Next Assignment ("we", "us") is a job-discovery service for people in media and journalism. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: [email protected].
Information we collect
- Account & contact details — your name, email, and any phone number, LinkedIn, or portfolio links you provide.
- Onboarding & profile information — the answers you give during onboarding, including your résumé, career history, beat/role preferences, and any writing-sample links you share. This is the core material we use to match you and (on Pro) to draft tailored materials.
- Payment information — handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your subscription and limited billing details (e.g. plan, status, customer ID). We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage & device data — basic analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser) collected via Google Analytics and standard server logs.
- Email engagement — whether our emails are delivered, via our email provider.
How we use your information
- To match you against media job openings and email you curated results.
- On Pro, to generate tailored draft résumés and cover letters for you to edit.
- To process your subscription, provide support, and send service messages.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
AI processing of your profile
To match and draft, your profile information (including your résumé and preferences) is processed by AI models provided by Anthropic (Claude). We send only what's needed to produce your matches and drafts. We do not use your information to train third-party models, and Anthropic processes it as our service provider.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the product, under their respective terms:

Cookies & analytics
Our site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to understand traffic. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's cookie controls. Disabling cookies won't stop you from using the service.
Data retention
We keep your profile and account information while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle billing, support, and legal needs. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).
Your choices & rights
- Access or correct the information we hold about you.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Cancel anytime via the Stripe billing portal.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential emails.

Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Children
The service is for working professionals and isn't directed to anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, notify subscribers by email.
